WI About Me’s
Hannah-
I am the current President of Hilton & Marston WI, being our youngest member (26) I hope to encourage women of all ages to attend this fantastic group. It's a great place to meet new people, experience new activities and have a good natter over a cup of tea. We plan lots of trips out so there is always something to get involved in. I first joined the WI as my friend (Liz) told me how much she enjoyed it. I love being part of the community and socialising with people out of my usual circles. Please feel free to contact me or look on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/WIhiltonmarston) for more information!
Gloria-
I have been in the WI since my eldest daughter was about 18 months old (1977) except for four years when I learnt Lace making at Evening classes. Serving on the committee I have booked speakers, run our craft group and Co -ordinate our walking group and at the moment take the minutes. I am also a member of the Hilton Gardening Club as I enjoy gardening, also going to the theatre and walking with my husband and friends.
Enid-
I have been a W.I. for 25 years the last 3 have been at Hilton and Marston and I have been on the committee for 2 of those. My hobbies are reading, gardening and walking.
Sylvia-
I have been a member of Hilton and Marston Wl for 14 years now and on the committee for several years. At present l sort out the weekly raffle and along with Wendy am a sick visitor for members who are unwell.
Elizabeth (Liz)-
I joined the WI in Jan 2016 as I wanted to become more involved in the community and to get to know others in my local area. The WI is an amazing support network for the community, both locally and nationally, this is what I have loved learning so far.
Rosie-
I am the current treasurer for the group and have lived in Hilton for 23 years. However I only joined the WI when I retired 3 years ago. I like the fact that the WI is so inclusive and has activities to suit women of all ages and interests.
Marion-
I moved to Hilton with a young son and a neighbour took me to Wi as a visitor. I joined and have enjoyed education, friendship, support, and skills as part of this great inclusive women's organisation for over 30 years.
