How do I make payment for my party booking?
We encourage you to pay by Bank Transfer, our Bank details can be found on the booking form. Payment can also be made by cheque or cash by visiting our Office.
Is a deposit required for my party booking?
We do not take a deposit for party bookings. Payment in full is due at least four weeks prior to your event.
I need time to set up and clear away after my party
Please allow time either side of your booking to set up and clear away. This extra time is charged accordingly. We do expect the room to be left as you found it.
Are bouncy castles permitted?
Yes, in our Large Hall.
I would like to decorate the hall
We love to see our rooms decorated but please do not affix any decorations to the walls or floors without prior consent from the Office.
Can I light tea lights/candles?
No. These are considered to be a fire risk and, as such, are not covered by our Insurance.
Can we throw confetti or use table confetti?
Our caretakers take much pride in the cleanliness of our Halls. Therefore, please do not use confetti of any kind as it is difficult to clean up.
Can I bring alcohol?
The Village Hall is not a licensed premises. Any hirer hosting an event, which includes the sale of alcohol, will need to apply for a licence from South Derbyshire District Council. All events where alcohol will be present will need committee approval and is subject to a security deposit of £500 (returnable in full after your event unless used to remedy any costs incurred through loss or damage)
I need access to a kitchen
Both our Large and Small Halls have access to a kitchen included in the hire charge. Our smaller Jubilee, Willow and Dove rooms do not. However, a tea trolley and urn can be provided upon request.

We have a conference package for hire. Please ask the Office for more details.
Where will I find the First Aid kits
There is a First Aid box in each of the kitchens and the Office.
Where is the Accident Book?
Each and every accident, however minor, should be recorded at the time of the incident. Loose leaf slips can be found in each First Aid kit and the Office. Once completed these should be returned to the Office.

- Crockery is available for your use but an exact number of items cannot be specified due to breakages etc.
- Tea and coffee making facilities, assorted pots, pans and baking sheets. Washing up liquid, dustpan and sweeping brushes.
What is not provided
- Tea towels, j cloths, kitchen towel, tea and coffee. (special arrangements apply for conferences)
