TAI CHI CLASSES
Unfortunately at the moment, we are not offering Tai Chi Classes at Hilton Village Hall.
Very proud to announce that Janet obtained a medal from the Qijong Games in the Jiu hua mountains in China during a China international Health Qijong Games.
Jan describes her classes:
I have been practicing Tai Chi and Health Qigong for over twenty years, with various schools and Instructors. I began teaching some time ago training under the Deyin Taijiquan Institute of Great Britain, with the Founders and Chief Instructors Master Faye (Li) and Master Tary Yip.
I have many years of experience learning a variety of different forms and have also enjoyed the opportunity of travelling and competing in tournaments, competitions and training sessions in many parts of the world, including Canada, New York, Belgium, France, Portugal and China. It has been fantastic making friends with so many likeminded people from so many different cultures.
At Hilton I teach the Yang style Tai Chi, all Tai Chi is based on the martial arts.
Yang style, in particular the 24 form, is the most popular form practiced in the western hemisphere and is recognised throughout the world, it keeps the mind active and works on body balance.
I am also qualified to teach Health Qigong, this is based on traditional Chinese Medicine, passed on through many generations. A big part of this is exploring the network of meridians running through the body channels which play a major part in the healing principles of Chinese Medicine.
In practicing Qigong, this also includes exercises to strengthen and tone the muscles and tendons.
We also learn to look at breathing techniques to enhance relaxation and mindfulness.
This current class is suitable for beginners to intermediate, and is very newcomer friendly!
