Here is the draft conceptual design offered by Blair Gratton Architects.

On Saturday 28th March, we invited three architects to present their proposed designs for the future of the village hall, based upon the needs and wishes identified in the recent survey.  In consequence, we are pleased to say that the village hall committee has chosen Blair Gratton Architects (subject to further negotiation) to be the architect for the proposed building programme.

The draft conceptual design put forward by Blair Gratton has received lots of support, but no decisions have been made yet, so we would still welcome your comments and ideas.  The current plans would include a new large hall, a community café and several smaller rooms for a range of possible services and activities.  Please contact Lis Kolkman by phone (01283 730300) or email (ideas@hiltonvillagehall.org.uk).

On Saturday 28th March, three architects presented their thoughts and concepts for the future of the village hall.  The presentations were well received, because it was clear that each architect had put in a great deal of effort over the last 3-4 weeks.

Hopefully, at a meeting on 8th April 2009 an architect will be chosen to take responsibility for this important project.

The presenting architects were Blair Gratton, Derek Trowell and Lathams.  A fourth architect - bi-Design - decided to only send a letter and photos, and to not present their ideas on the day.

Officially, the survey closed today, with views taken from 360 people.

The next phase of the consultation will focus upon responses to the conceptual design prepared by the architect, who will hopefully be chosen in early April 2009.

Today, we short-listed four architects out of a possible eight.  Thes architects will be present their ideas and conceptual designs on 28th March2009.

South Derbyshire CVS continues to help with the distribution of questionnaires to hirers of the village hall and others inthe village.

We have heard from several architects who are interested in the possibility of designing and managing the re-development of the village hall.  Soon, we will choose who we would like to invite to our our event on 28th March, where everyone will get a chance to see and hear the draft plans of the short-listed architects.

South Derbyshire CVS helped us to distribute questionnaires and conduct interviews at the annual pantomime run by H.A.T.S.  The atmosphere was great and we would like to thank everyone who ensured that this survey went very smoothly.

We have completed a simple 2-page questionnaire that we plan to distribute over the next 3-4 weeks.  The forthcoming pantomimes held at the village hall will provide an excellent opportunity to get this survey off to a great start.

We are starting a feasibility study to look at the future of our village hall.  This project will survey the views of the local community and ideas of experts, and will result in clear recommendations of what to do next.
